Priorities

If you asked me in 2012 where I would be today, I probably would have given you a vague answer about working at some company, hopefully owning a house, and taking vacations. I probably would have also said something about family time, maybe a side gig or two, and maybe appeasing someone else.

I turned thirty a few days ago, and I was reflecting about all things that happened in the last decade, which is wild to think about.

  1. Graduated college

  2. I moved to Victoria to start University

  3. I started finding myself outside of a small town, exploring different perspectives, and coming into who I always felt like I was

  4. Dated boys

  5. Dumped dumb boys

  6. Got into a severe amount of debt

  7. Gained freshman 15>20>40?!

  8. Figured out how to do things on my own

  9. Interned at a company and worked at said company

  10. Bought my dream car, sold it, bought the other dream car

  11. Fell in with new friends, fell out with old friends

  12. Started a business, learned life lessons with that

  13. Met my husband, got engaged in 10 months

  14. Moved to a new city in the first year

  15. Isolated in said new city for 3/4 of the time we lived there

  16. Moved across the country

  17. Bought a $450,000 house, put solar panels on it

Now my priorities are to be financially independent, happy, and give back to our communities and help them grow.
