On being childfree

‘We’ve decided to not have kids.’ I say, M says, we say. 

‘That’s okay you’re still young’ 

‘Wait till you find the right one’

‘That’s a little selfish’

‘You know some people can’t have kids so you should have kids’

‘What about your legacy’

‘You hate kids’

‘Your spouse must be manipulating you because you’d be a great mom’

‘Aren’t you bored?’

‘Good thing you don’t have kids because moving every two years would be hard’
